November shocker for the Nation

Who could have predicted...

that Hostess would close it's doors.

Callie is FOUR Nov 3, 2012

This was also the outfit she was wearing for her four-year-old well-child check up. The doctor asked her questions like, "What is your favorite color?" and, "Do you have a pet?" She answered that her favorite colors were pink and purple and that she has bunnies. I noted that her favorites were also displayed on her shirt. She was in such an agreeable giggly mood at the Dr's office. I think he would be surprised to know what a spitfire she can be at times ;)

The only thing she wanted to do for her birthday was go to Chuck-E-Cheese. In fairness to her I also remember thinking Chuck-E-Cheese's was the ultimate fun destination as a kid. Plus PBS Kids drills it into their heads, "Where a kid can be a kid!" It was a Saturday and there were a zillion birthday's going on. She wondered why Chuck-E stood so far away from her when he sang Happy Birthday, "I say Happy, you say Birthday!" Since we substituted Callie's name in the song she had no idea he wasn't there for her. I hated to eat and run but I desperately needed to get to JoAnne's to get a pattern for Katrina's Preference dress. I waited till the kids were busy on rides and stole away for a bit. Hey, I was back for the cake.
She wanted a rainbow cake. I totally stumbled on to one at Wally's.

I always feel a little out of place at Chuck-E for whatever reason. Matt seems to be on the same page. As we were leaving he said, "The next time I come here is when I have grandchildren."

Driving back home got me so tired as the afternoon sun shone through the window. Once home I laid down on my bed and fell asleep...for TWO hours. The family was done watching Callie's birthday movie "Cinderella" when I woke up but were willing to watch it again with me. That is one of my favorites of the animated. That evening I remembered that I never got around to making Callie a birthday dress like I had wanted to. Then I realized, the day wasn't over yet! Besides, I needed to brush up on my sewing skills for Katrina's dress. My cousin Rachel gave me a huge bag of fabric last spring that has come in handy throughout the year. I pieced together some reds and was able to hang Callie's new dress by her bed that night. She woke up the next morning, "Is this mine???" She wore it for days.
Callie in front of the new dogwood tree Matt planted this past September. We can watch it grow with Callie. There was such a beautiful sunset.
What Callie is up to some of the other 364 days of the year:
She ran outside first thing in the morning when the first snow fell in Oct. I thought it looked like a promising winter, but we got more cold than snow. I just loved looking out at her sitting on the bench all alone with the biggest smile on her face.

Callie is also our little lady in red.

Lovin on her bunnies Skipper and Charlie. We were at TJ Maxx in September when her jaw dropped at this Princess dress. There was only one. It was her size. It was meant to be.
Every day she grunts and groans as she gets her hoop dress on.
The only time it proves a problem is during nap time.

The End.
