Snapshots of Easter 2010

Matt had arranged to not be out of town like he had originally planned for Passover (April 1st) so I couldn’t let Katrina stay at her friend’s house during dinner. I think after she saw all the work that had gone into it she was appreciative. As she left later that evening she said, “Thanks for dinner.” I appreciated that. We feasted on lamb chops, Romaine lettuce in Caesar salad, unleavened bread, carrots, and wine...(April Fools!)

Eggs
Dying Easter Eggs was a first for Graham. Once he sat down with is eggs at the table and saw all the colored water in front of him he didn’t know what came next. I said in my Nursery voice, “Put the egg in the wat-er.” He tried cracking it to break it like he was baking. Once he got the gist of it though you can bet he was putting his eggs in one color after another. This resulted in his coming out a little tye-dyed. I was glad Katrina joined us and there was even enough eggs for me to dye some. We’ll be eating egg dishes for a while I expect: hard-boiled eggs, egg salad sandwiches, hard-boiled eggs, deviled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, you get the idea.

We made Easter Rolls by putting a marshmallow inside the roll while it baked. The marshmallow dissolved and it left an empty “tomb.”

Is this for ReAL?

When Matt told me he had tickets for the US Women’s Soccer Team against Mexico at Rio Tinto Stadium (where ReAL Salt Lake plays) on March 31st I pictured in my head a nice spring outing. However, the saying that March goes out like a lamb is completely backwards. I’ve noticed that March seems to start innocently enough with a teaser of spring but by the end of the month it’s time to shovel snow again. This year proved no different and the flurries outside the window made me want to stay home and watch a movie on the couch with Mallerie, who was feeling nauseous, instead of braving the cold in Sandy. But sitting home would only remind me that I wasn’t at the Michael Buble concert at the E Center also going on that night. I had watched ticket prices online during the day to see if any scalpers would get desperate at the last minute and offer me some for $20 bucks. Didn’t happen. So we bundled up and headed through a storm that only got worse the closer we got to Salt Lake. We texted Brent and Shafer who both live near there with invitations to join us. If it had been a day later they for sure would have thought it an April Fools joke. We were the fools who trudged through the slush to sit in wet seats and watch the first half of the game. All the fans were seated on one side of the stadium. Grayson’s shoes had gotten wet so it wasn’t long before he was saying how cold his feet were. No one else seemed to complain much, to my surprise, including little Callie who sat perched in her seat with lips shuddering but not making a sound. I attributed Katrina’s fair temperament to the fact we had allowed her to bring a friend in Mallerie’s place. Graham’s whining was surprisingly not about the weather but the Churro, which was being gobble behind us. The field had so much snow on it that the ball barely moved so at half time the score was still zip-to-zip. We did see one of the Mexican players go down hard during the first half after a run in with an American. She seemed to be over reacting but the close-up on the screen of her face showed blood dripping out of her mouth and she was carried out on a stretcher. Again, if it had been a day later we might not have believed her.

After the first half we called it good but decided to take Shafer up on his cocoa offer after the game before heading home. Even though their boys had already been put to bed and the house tidied for the night, Shafer and Lindsey hosted us with the said cocoa and popcorn. With our crowd popping in it wasn’t long before Harrison and Charlie were out of bed and out jumping on the couch. Then down in the basement they showed us what they’ve learned on their coaster cars since Christmas. Ava followed behind on Shafer’s rip stick, which she’s mastered. You would have to see to believe how fast Harrison can go on his coaster car. He’s learned tricks like riding on just the front two wheels and spinning. He’d ride by trying not to let his pleasure show on his face by sucking in his cheeks. We were very amused by this.

We weren’t there for longer than an hour because it was a school night, we had a long drive ahead, and we had that friend with us. The driving conditions caused Matt to go slowly and it seemed an eternity before we finally got home. It had been a random night of activities, which ended up being just what the doctor ordered.

Speaking of being fooled…

On that very day I had received in the mail a letter from my mom. Inside was a single number 7. This isn’t the first “7” I’ve received in the mail. To announce the upcoming birth of Hartman Sadie mailed us all a number 7. I was clueless till Matt filled me in on what that could mean. Duh! But why would my MOM be mailing a 7? I got on the phone right away and my dad and mom were both on speakerphone in no time. My mom asked if I’ve ever received a 7 before and what did it mean? My dad started talking about Sariah in the Bible giving birth in her old age. NO WAY. I said, “Am I missing something?” There was a long pause on their end and I couldn’t tell if they were laughing or crying. My dad told me to look at a calendar and I thought he was going to tell me a due date! Instead he said, “What’s the date tomorrow.” APRIL FOOLS!

April Fools on Yourself!

I got up the morning of April Fools to make oatmeal like I do with my head foggy as go through the motions. When I turned on the sink I noticed the sprayer was leaking water profusely. Upon closer examination I noticed a loose rubber band around the handle with a note reading “April Fools” in Matt’s handwriting. Too bad the band wasn’t tighter cause it might have actually sprayed me. I took it off and chucked it without another thought. When Matt came home I remembered and told him his little trick had bombed since the water had barely trickled down instead of getting me wet at all. This confused him, “That’s weird, when I tried it this morning the rubber band was tight and it sprayed when I turned on the faucet.” “So you got wet?” “Yeah.” “Well then your trick worked after all~”

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat and a Dream Boat

TVT or Timponogos Valley Theatre is Heber’s rendition of the Valley Center Playhouse (except that people actually come to the play). They just refurbished the ‘old’ oldfolks center with a stage and lighting and even an area for a live band. Their first show to open with was Joseph. Mallerie has been going to rehearsals for the past couple of months as part of the children’s choir with her friend McKayla and McKayla’s four siblings. I wanted to go to more than one performance but the tickets were $12 for adults and $8 for kids. Our family went on the 25th of March with even Graham and Callie in tow. It was a little long for the young ones but they are familiar enough with the music that I think it kept their attention. We chose to go to that particular performance because that was the night that Mallerie got to hand Joseph his coat, “Give me my colored coat, my amazing colored coat.” She told us where to sit so we could see her best and we enjoyed watching her smiling face sing along “ah ah ah”. Matt and I were commenting that we’ve been ruined for Joseph ever since seeing it at the outdoor theatre Tuachan in southern Utah where we were enamored at seeing the play for he first time. The Heber show didn’t have live camels, or real divers diving into a running waterfall, or singers straight from Broadway, but they did the best with what they had. Besides,Tuachan didn’t have Mallerie!
Mallerie was surprised with a cast party after the last Saturday’s play when everyone cleaned up the chairs, then tables were set up where a feast was brought out and a party began! I wondered if they hadn’t originally planned on inviting the children’s choir till the last minute because we hadn’t heard anything about it. But she sure had a good time. The play was extended the following Monday night because all the shows had been sold out. Toldja it wasn't like Valley Center.

I had stayed in Salt Lake that day to attend the Young Women’s broadcast with Katrina and Sadie and her girls and Lindsey Taylor. We were at Sadie’s that day for Alivia’s baptism and Hartmans’ blessing. I always wanted to do that, have the baptism and blessing on the same day but I would have had to wait till Callie was 11 months old. It was such a nice day with a luncheon at Sadie’s afterwards. Ava and Alivia shined in their baptism dresses.
As I was getting Callie dressed that morning I realized she has outgrown most her clothes. I went downstairs to rummage in the Tupperware in storage to find her a dress and possibly some shoes. I found a little denim jumper and some black Sunday shoes, which were too big but she was content to wear. In fact, she insisted she wear them. She had a little bow in her hair and a purse over her shoulder. At the baptism she sat on the front row with all the kids in the primary size chairs. She was looking so adorable I leaned over to Matt for him to look as well. I didn’t need to because he was already looking at her. He also seemed to be reading my mind when he said, “I can’t take my eyes off her.” She's a dream boat.

It was a party weekend. The night before Matt and I had celebrated our first date at the Olive Garden. The waitress was one of a kind, Julia, have any of you had her there? She said she’s been there for 24 years. She looks very old and asked me to guess how long she’s been married. I decided to guess LOW, “25 years??” She was pleased, “No, 48 years!” I was glad I hadn’t gone with my original guess of 50 years

Spring Brunch

So that the ward could more focus on the Savior for Easter week we had an egg hunt and brunch on the first day of spring, March 20th 2010. This was one year to the day that I put on my first ward activity, which was the adult progressive dinner. I worry myself sick that there won’t be enough food. This time more so because it was Pot Luck. And though people had signed up I wondered if they would actually bring the food. The morning of I needed to rest my brain and knew I’d feel better if I had two more breakfast casseroles. The drinks still needed to be picked up from Day’s market so I got the ingredients for the breakfast casseroles at that time. I was just going to send Matt to get them but I feared he’d try to talk me out of it with reason, “You can’t do the food too, there will be enough.” He’d be right, we had plenty, but I’ve learned that peace of mind is worth something too. I was able to send one of the casseroles to a lady who had just had a baby plus my family had one the next week for dinner. The brunch looked festive where once again my blue tulip wedding centerpieces came in handy. I was feeling physically tired as well as mentally tired by the time the egg hunt ended. Someone asked me if I wanted to save the eggs. In my mind I couldn’t imagine ever wanting to do that again so I said, “No! Keep em!” In hindsight I probably should have put them in the closet in case they are needed again. But deciding stuff like that is what a committee would be helpful for. Also it would be helpful for getting some of the food together that morning. I forgot to take out the frozen PB&J sandwiches till the last minute so they were hard as rocks. But I’ve also learned that there are many people who are willing to help. The night before when Matt and I went to set up we ended up with 9 adults out of the blue. And the next morning a couple people randomly came early and I put them to work. Besides, maybe I’d still feel rattled inside even if I had a committee. But I would be curious to see if it could keep the migraines at bay. I could do without those!

While the adults were hiding the eggs the young women were in the Primary room with the kids helping them decorate bonnets and bunny ears. I had made the bonnets by cutting out the center of a paper plate and gluing a bowl in with some string to tie under the chin. The rabbit ears were just out of paper and had a nose that hung down with whiskers. I had the cutest song “Easter Bonnet” that I had asked Katrina to put on her I Pod but that song was still on the computer when I needed it at the church. So instead of there being a parade it ended up being that any kid who wanted to say their name into the microphone could. I was seriously physically tired!
I had a packet for each family to take home called “Focusing on the Savior for Easter Week” that goes through the last week of the Saviors life beginning with His Triumphal Entry on Palm Sunday and ending with the Resurrection the following Sunday; Easter. This idea came to me from a book, “A Christ Centered Easter” by Janet and Joe Hales that was given to me last Easter by Jamie. We were leaving to Oregon so I pulled it out this year and really felt the desire to have us do this on a ward level. Of course it’s up to each family to see that it gets accomplished but at least they would have the recourses to make it easier.

When I presented this idea in February at ward council they were all in favor of it and so when I asked how we could better implement it, I was asked to be the Easter speaker on Palm Sunday to introduce it. I walked right into that one! Because I had already done so much research for the outline this didn’t seem as daunting a topic as it would have been a couple of weeks before. I had originally written an outline based on the book from Jamie but when I sent it to the publishers for approval I was denied. But like Jamie said, “You can’t copyright the bible!” I put together my own outline using of course the scriptures and many Ensign articles. I really learned a lot. When I spoke on the 28th of March I was told to take as much time as I needed and the Bishopric would just take whatever time was left. The councilor had originally asked me to find another speaker. (But since that’s not how it works) I didn’t.

A couple of days before the activity I decided to make cupcakes for the ward activity. I dyed coconut green and put it on top of the iced cupcakes so it looked like grass then I put jellybeans on and a pipe cleaner as a handle. With the ward activity on my mind I had sorely neglected any planning for St. Patrick’s Day. The night before (the 16th) Ava was saying how excited she was for St. Patrick’s Day. A little nervously I asked her why. “Because the table is all decorated!” No pressure. Matt hid the leprechauns that night since he’d be out of town (why? cause it’s a Wednesday that’s why) and I put out our now very crinkled St. Patty’s décor out on the table. But that’s as far as the festivities went the next day. I didn’t even wear green. But now that I think of it, I DID use green food coloring on the 96 cupcakes I made that day.

Kind of Embarrassing

I had a very uneventful day one day in March, nothing to report. Matt came home from work and went right to the kitchen sink and turned it on, “Still no hot water? Has it been off all day?” I just stared at him with a blank look. He said he had to take a cold shower that morning because there wasn’t any hot water. I’m embarrassed to say that none of us at home had even noticed.

Chess Club

When Grayson brought home a note about Chess Club starting up at school and expressed interest I nodded like I always do. I was sure he would forget about it so when I was straightening the kitchen that night I threw the flyer in the trash. The following Thursday as I was leaving to pick up the kids from school Grayson called really excited that it was Chess Club that and he was staying for it. The words that went through my mind were, “Good for him.” He was so excited when I picked him up an hour later and said the instructor Mr. MaWhinney was really funny, he described the pawns as, “these crazy guys.” He was actually torn in the next couple of weeks when he had to choose between Chess Club and a Birthday party. In the end he chose the Birthday party. Grayson kept calling it CHEST instead of CHESS. I said, “It’s CHESS not CHEST, there isn’t a ‘t’ at the end. He said, “Well that’s just how I say it.” For this one I had to be insistent, “If you can learn to play CHESS then you can learn how to say it, it’s CHESSSSSSSSSSSSS.”

ISSUES 3/3/10

Every year Wasatch County puts on “Issues” for the current year with its concerns. Different speakers address diverse topics. For GYC (Governor’s Youth Council) Katrina helped with the children’s activities. There are activities for children of all ages down to Callie so Matt and I were able to go to the classes together. We went to a class on teen alcohol and then to one on Energy drinks. You know like Monster, Rock Star, and Red Bull. These were not around when I was a teen and so I was glad to learn about them. They aint good. There is a Naked Juice Energy drink that is loaded with caffeine. Naked Juice is one of Gatorade’s top sellers and is basically a fruit drink that is nutritious but this ONE variety has caffeine. As the instructor was talking about this I saw Matt’s hand go up. I mumbled under my breath, “Uh-oh, here we go.” He stated that Naked Juice has a pound of fruit in each bottle and is very good for you, except for that ONE variety.” I was glad he left it at that. I don’t know why I get so nervous. He’s such a nice guy I just know how passionate he can get about his products. It’s like someone bringing up Chem-Dry Jamie, you know Marks hand would shoot right up if someone addressed it. It’s like that. Anyway, I was glad to have the information on Energy drinks when Katrina did FHE on the Word of Wisdom a few weeks later and after discussing them we could all agree that Energy drinks belong in the “not for the body” category including the Naked Juice brand.

Our Graham turns THREE!

March 2, 2010. I don’t know who was more excited for this day to come, Graham, the kids, or ME! In the days leading up he and I talked ALL about it. I had a certificate to Build-A-Bear so I described to him how he would get to make his own bear. We talked about the cupcakes and the presents and on and on and on and ON! He never tired of this birthday talk. Since he doesn’t go to bed until he can see that everyone else is asleep he was still up as Matt was hanging streamers the night before and I was icing cupcakes. He didn’t know what I was going to do with the cupcakes though and so it was a surprise to him the next day to see them arranged like balloons carrying the house from “UP.” That seems an easy enough name to call the movie but he insists on calling it by the old man’s name so instead of calling the movie “UP” he calls it “Mr. Fredrickson.” As soon as he saw the house under the cupcakes he pointed, “Mr. Fredrickson!” I had seen this on Family Fun’s website the day before and knew it was exactly what I wanted to do. The following Friday night Mallerie had a birthday party to go to where all the girls had pitched in to buy a rip stick for her friend Maddy. Mallerie still wanted to bring something to the party though so we made another one of these houses with cupcakes since they would be watching “UP” at the party!
Back to Graham, the day Matt and I went to the Temple I had run into Kid-to-Kid and found a huge Lego set for $12. It wasn’t “Lego” brand so I feared it wouldn’t fit with the Lego’s we have but to my relief it does. I was planning on having him open it after the kids got home from school but as soon as I finished waving good-bye to them on the driveway I could hear paper tearing in the dining room. So we spent the day using the directions to build the tractors and jeeps. Graham would point, “Make that!” and I’d begin. I got three of the vehicles made, which took me all day while the kids were at school. A lady came over to deliver her daughters Girl Scout cookies and I still had wrapping paper strewn all over the floor cause I was building! I am tempted to glue the vehicles together because while he’s playing with them I’m afraid he’ll drop them and they’ll fall apart. When pieces do come off you can bet I know exactly where they go.
As soon as Matt came home that evening we loaded the rest of the gifts and the cupcakes into the van to take to Pirate Island in Orem. I’ve sure heard a lot about that place and thought this the perfect occasion to try it out. For a pretty plain looking building on the outside, it sure is decked out on the inside. We enjoyed the arcade. That basketball game is more fun than I remember it being. The kids bought prizes with their tickets. Matt brought Callie to me afterwards and she was holding a tiny bouncy ball the exact size of her esophagus. I took it, “She can’t have that, she’ll choke. Who gave it to her?” Matt’s sheepish reply, “I did.” Oops. From Pirate Island we went across the parking lot to the mall for Build-A-Bear. Once inside the store he was wowed by everything and had a hard time focusing on anything like picking a bear. This made it easy to select the cheapest one. The girls loved helping him get it stuffed and washed while Katrina made the birth certificate on the computer. The name he chose for the bear is “Jammies.” Matt took the kids out to sit down while I paid and they dressed Jammies (I had brought the clothes from home.) As I sat down Matt commented that Graham didn’t really seem too into the bear and wondered if it was worth it. I told him it was since I had the certificate I only had to pay tax, which was .69 cents. Since that day Jammies has gotten about .69 cents worth of attention.

Grayson gave Graham a bag of pennies for his birthday. These proved useful at the fountail for Graham to make a wish. Though after such a fun day I doubt he had anything left to wish for.
More on Graham:
Graham don’t do what Graham don’t want to do! The next day at his three-year check up he got up and left while the doctor was talking to me. He politely shut the door behind him. I went out to find him in the waiting room playing happily.

More recently he had to get his first cavity filled. I could forget a bout crocheting in the waiting room since I again had to pin him down while they drilled. I thought he would do fine since he had the laughing gas and was very loopy as he waited for the doctor. He didn’t.

Nursery Time

I substituted for Relief Society in February since they are short a teacher right now and thought maybe that was going to be made permanent when I was called in by a bishopric councilor. However, I was put in the nursery. Callie is beginning to be a bit of a handful at church these days so I may as well be in there! Graham is in there of course and I’ve really enjoyed Nursery the few weeks I’ve been in there thus far. The Nursery Leader is the former Young Women’s president from when I was the Mia Maid Advisor so there is already a friendship there. I am still the Activities person but now I’m also doing Nursery on the side. The week that they sustained me they had a few other sustainings as well. The councilor had not said for us to stand up when he called our name and so after a few other names had been read after mine I was still sitting, Matt nudged me to stand up. I did but I wasn’t sure if I was the only one standing since we were sitting towards the front and I felt very awkward about this.

Fun with Friends and Family

Ever since we moved from our Orem ward we have had the intention of getting together with those we left behind for dinner some time. Well ten years later we made it happen and got together with the Christensen’s from our Orem ward (2/26/10). Since we were going to meet them in Orem, Koreen suggested we meet at Los Hermanos. We hardly EVER eat there but it happened that we had eaten there just the week before with my family after seeing little Vi at the hospital. We agreed however because Mexican is always good and I love Los. We enjoyed visiting with them afterwards at their house. They marveled at how our family as grown and we marveled at how there’s has grown up. Their daughter that was in my Achievement Days is now turning in mission papers. But some things never change, and I mean that literally, the Homemaking craft we made ten years ago was still in the same place on the wall.

The next day (2/27/10) Matt and I were nearly to the Provo Temple to do a session when I suggested we go to the Mt. Timponogos since my Dad works there on Saturday’s. Instead of reaming me for not mentioning this sooner he turned towards American Fork. We did stop and do errands along the way. After the temple I was dying to see little Violet again and since Cade and Ashley purchased a house just before she was born I figured we could see both at once. It was a short drive to Lehi where we also wished Ashley a Happy Birthday with some cake from Paradise Bakery. Whoa-oa almost Paradise…we’re knockin on heaven’s door.

Next up: High School!

It almost caught me off guard to have to meet with Katrina’s councilor to register her for HIGH SCHOOL. It sounds worse than it is though, I mean really, ninth grade is still Junior High in many areas, she’s still only half way through 8th grade, and she has a late birthday so she’s only 13 ½ . Phew! I thought she was going to fly the coop already! Maybe I’m just trying to reassure myself. I was quite a while waiting in the councilor’s office since the appointments were running behind schedule due to technical difficulties. I visited with another mother who didn’t know which class her son was in and she said it would embarrass him immensely if she were to go looking for him. When he came in the room I thought to myself, “HE’S embarrassed of YOU?” I thought that because if I’ve learned anything from being a mother it’s that those awkward years we all refer to as the teen years aren’t called with the aim of being awkward for the teenager…they’re awkward for us parents!

I planned on getting through the appointment quickly since I didn’t have any concerns and I didn’t want to keep others waiting, but the woman councilor was very thorough in going over anything and everything. Furthermore, since I found that most information was new to me I let her take it away. In addition to feeling enlightened, I felt proud. She gave test results for the end of the year testing that goes on. The students never see the results of those tests. Katrina is in the top 10% of her class. Because of her grades she qualifies to take AP classes including History and Biology. Hopefully this will allow her to go the colleges of her choice in the future and possibly get a scholarship. I left in high spirits that Katrina takes control and responsibility over her education, because if she were waiting for me to get her motivated, she’d still be waiting. She’s a good
girl.

Meet the Masters

I taught in Ava’s class in February. Since it was President’s Day when this was suppose to be taught Ava’s teacher had to pick a different day for me to come. We didn’t realize but several other teachers had also rescheduled during this time, which made for some juggling of the supplies which were being whisked off to other classrooms as soon as I was done using them. The artist was Pablo Picasso so I taught an abstract project of musical instruments. Ava did great. I don’t think it’s just because I’m her mother that I noticed that she follows directions easily, which was the reason her project turned out heads above the others.

New Beginnings

Graham came into my room while I was getting dressed to attend Katrina’s New Beginning’s with Matt. Graham came in later in HIS church clothes. When it was time to go he came right out to the car with us. Matt said, “No Graham you are staying here.” For some reason I didn’t care if he came or not and since I was allowing it there was no way for Matt to take a stand. Graham came along. It seemed a good idea at the time but this was not an evening for little kids. During the slide show Graham was quite vocal, “There’s Katrina!” I only really agreed with Matt that Graham should have stayed home when he ate nearly all my éclair. I really love éclairs.

Valentines Day 2010

Mallerie’s class had a decorating contest with their Valentine boxes for their classroom exchange. There were different categories and Mallerie immediately ruled out the ones she didn’t think she stood a chance in, “I know I won’t win the most hearts.” In the category of “funny” I asked her if there was class joke or something. She said the funniest thing to ever happen in her class was when they had a super GROUCHY substitute. This woman was absolutely retched. So much so that the next time they had her I told Mallerie she could call me during the day if she wanted to come home. The code word would be, “Is it time for my appointment?” Anyway, this sub carried CORN DOGS in her purse complete with catsup that she would pull out during the day and munch on. The catsup was not limited to the corndog though. When she didn’t like someone’s report she threw it in the trash and poured catsup on top of that. Anyway, since then the class always jokes about the corn dogs in this mean woman’s purse. So we came up with this:

Of course she won!

We enjoyed our usual Valentine table with candles this year. Matt took a picture and said, “The lights are too low, it’s just fuzzy.” The next day I discovered it wasn’t the lighting at all but the FUZZ on the lens. These photos will have to do.

2010 Vancouver

We were really looking forward to this and by the time the opening ceremonies rolled around we were in party mode. Matt picked up fried chicken and all the junk food you could want. It seems a veggie platter would be more appropriate for an OLYMPIC party, but there wasn’t a carrot in sight. As usual I was so impressed with what can be done with modern technology and enjoyed the opener immensely. This is coming from a girl who just learned to crochet. We watched as much as we could in the two weeks following. It was almost a relief when the games were over so we could get back to life.

Our favorites were Apollo Ono, Lindsey Von, and of course Shaun White! Plus all the figure skating that we kept our eyes peeled open for since it was on so late at night. That Russian seemed a sour sport.

Shower for Cade and Ashley

With the due date of baby Taylor less than two weeks away we were cutting it close but decided on throwing a party even if Ashely was in the hospital. Sadie really pulled out all the stops in hosting this PINK party. With it being Valentine month and a GIRL there really was no other choice when it came to a color theme.

I added a poem to our e-vite that read:

Stop by to say hello, give advice,
or just watch Ashley glow.

Stay a while to chat and eat
Our promise to you: a tasty treat.

We’ll shower this baby with all the frills
-but when it comes to the baby’s spills,

the plan is for cloth instead of disposable pants
(this to the astound of all the aunts)

In case you don’t get what this could mean:
This baby girl is going GREEN!

Thanks to Lindsey Taylor for some great photos.

The shower was on February 6, 2010
Violet Ann! Little Vi made her appearance in the early morning hours of February 18th 9 lbs 2 oz. It was fun visiting her the next day at Orem Community Hospital given that I have gone to that hospital to visit Cade when he was born! This is a darling photo from Ashley and Cade to announce her on their blog. Oh, did you know that the flower for February is a Violet?
