| The stranger that took our picture shouted out, "Act like you like each other!" |
Thanks to technology I could watch on my phone and see exactly where Matt was. A soon as our dots on the screen matched up we headed out of the cold and into the concert.
It was held in the old Tabernacle, which was decorated so festive. We sat on the front row of the balcony. It was an inspiring evening. Some of the talent included were (I got the pic's from my friends FB):
- Vocal Point
- Jenny Oaks Baker
- Kevin Olusola from Pentatonix
I didn't know solo cellist could be so beautiful.
We walked around a bit before heading across the street to get our names on the list at Cheesecake Factory. We had 30 minutes to look at the lantern displays at City Creek before our table was ready. Our waiter was a vampire I think. He had slick black hair, white skin, blood red lips, and he knew the menu like he had been studying it for 100 years. Besides, it was getting awfully late and he didn't seem tired at all. Towards the end of our meal I asked Matt, "What time is it anyway?" He looked at his watch and said, "11:45 and we still have a mile walk to our car." Wa waaaa. It wasn't really that far but since it was cold it seemed that far. It was a late date night by the time we got home but we had such a nice time.
Before we headed across to City Creek for dinner we were able to get into the North Visitor's Center to see the Christus. After the recording stopped I turned around to look out the window. I gasped at the image of the resurrected Christ reflected over the Nativity scene.
I could also see the Temple. It wasn't until the next day in Relief Society when we sang He Sent His Son (CSB ), that I put it all together: How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness? He sent is Son, a new-born babe, with peace and holiness...How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death? He sent his Son to die for us and rise with living breath....What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say? Have faith, have hope, live like his Son, help others on their way. This is where the spires of the temple come in. I had un-intentionally just come up with our Christmas Eve program.
What does he ask? Live like his son.
