Valentines Day! 2009

Since it was on a Saturday the kids had their class parties on Friday the 13th. I helped with Mallerie's and was glad to have the Valentine Mad Libs from Katrina's third grade class ready to go. Parties do get easier the more kids you have because you don't have to keep reinventing the wheel. The more I go to that school the more I ask myself, "What was I thinking wanting to be a teacher?" It just seems so crazy there and I can never leave fast enough. Graham watched as the kids dumped and sorted their candy boxes after school and you can bet he was in their room the second they left to school on Monday to find it.
He was successful.
We continued our tradition and had a candlelight dinner as a family on Saturday night. It makes it nice that we have such a set Valentines tradition. It takes out all the "what should we do this year..." garbage. As we played games together that night the mysterious doorbell ditching Valentine giver kept coming and bringing more loot for Graham to sneak to the next week.
We watched Journey to the Center of the Earth that night. It turned into a comedy with Katrina and Mallerie recounting Sadie's irritated comments as she watched it with them in Sandy. By the time the dinosaur was on the screen we asked, "What did she say about this part?" "She got up and left." Hahahahahaha.
We actually went to Sandy the next day to celebrate with the family and have dinner and more pink cookies!

What is better than Valentine sugar cookies?
Tradition states that there WILL be a decorated table the morning of Valentines for the family to enjoy dinner at that evening.
A little murder mystery intrigue.
Mallerie and Ava were so sweet and decorated our bedroom to surprise us. Their excitement over it is what was touching.
